The MSE is a one and half year (18 months) full time programme meant to prepare students for diverse career opportunities in the ever-evolving Software Engineering world. It further equips students with knowledge on contemporary software engineering principles and paradigms, emerging technologies, advanced database and information security so that they become competent professionals in the ICT centric sectors. Students are also nurtured in professional ethics, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), managerial skills, entrepreneurial skills, communication skills and teamwork. The programme also prepares students for higher education opportunities and promotes a spirit of lifelong learning towards a successful professional career.
Candidates must comply with the ZNDU General Academic Regulations. Normally an Upper Second Class (2. 1) or better in Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, ICT Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and any other relevant degree programme.
Structure of (MSE) Programme
MSE is a full-time 18 months long programme divided as follows:
- The first two semesters consist of theory and practical based courses.
- The third semester requires students to undertake a research project of an identified problem in any industrial sector whose outcome should provide a software solution.
A Graduate with the MSE is equipped with advanced skills in Computer and Software Engineering. Career opportunities lie within the field of Software Engineering, Software Development, Project Management, Software Testing, Software Architecture, Software Quality Assurance, Data Science, Configuration management, Systems Analysis, Systems Engineering, Academics, Research, Game Development and Entrepreneurship.
